A Most Wanted Man: Tai Lopez Movie-of-the-Day review: Phili

I just checked out the new spy thriller movie, “A Most Wanted Man” with the late Philip Seymour Hoffman.

It was a little slow. Reminded me of “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy” in the way it gradually develops the plot and characters.

If you are looking for action skip this one. But if you don’t mind a little slower pace it might be worth seeing, especially since it’s one of Hoffman’s last works.

The casting was strong – any movie with Willem Defoe always gets brownie points with me.

The end will definitely surprise you. Which makes me give this movie a 6.5 or maybe a 7 out of 10.

The funniest thing is that only in the end did I realize Hoffman was trying to have a German accent. I thought he was playing a Brit in Hamburg, ha! Apparently accents were not his strongest acting skill.

The movie also brings up some ethical questions on how to deal with terrorist threats post 9-11. A bit of utilitarianism controversy here.

Did you like the movie, or was it too slow for you?
